Another day at WHE and a first day HMS

Thursday, we went to West Hancock, as always, but this time I got to do something new. Ms. Bourne told me that a student had missed two Fridays, and never made up the spelling tests. She asked me to call the words out to him and let him write them down. Some of the words, like hear, could be spelled different ways. As a teacher, I would try not to choose spelling words that could be spelled more than one way.  I also think waiting to long to let a child make up a test could affect the grade. I would make sure to give them a heads up so they have time to study.

Every Friday, we will be going to the middle school to help out. It is a lot different than being at the elementary schools. Because it was the first time we went, the teacher I was going to help, Ms. Gibbons, wasn't prepared.  I went into her room and watched the way she did things. However, because her next block has another teacher in there, she let me go to other teachers to see if they needed any help or had anything that I could do. The experience was very different than the first time I went to the elementary school, and I prefer going to the elementary school.
